unreleased song is on the way from Queen featuring the vocals of the legendary Freddie Mercury. In an interview over the weekend with BBC Radio 2, Brian May and Roger Taylor, Queen’s guitarist and drummer, respectively, shared that they’ve discovered a new track they recorded with Mercury before his passing in 1991.“We did find a little gem from Freddie that we’d kind of forgotten about,” Taylor told BBC Radio 2. “And it’s wonderful.

Actually, it was a real discovery.”“It was kind of hiding in plain sight,” Taylor continued. “We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.’”They were delighted and surprised to discover that the song didn’t have to stay lost after all. “Our wonderful engineering team went, ‘OK, we can do this and this,’” May shared. “It’s like stitching bits together.

But it’s beautiful. It’s touching.”“It’s a very passionate piece,” added Taylor. The song was originally recorded for Queen’s 1989 album The Miracle, but ultimately wasn’t finished, although the band has been discussing whether or not to release it for quite a while.

And now that their engineers have confirmed it can be rescued, Taylor assures that fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their ears on it. “It’s from The Miracle sessions, and I think it’s going to be out in September,” he said. This won’t be the first time that the band has posthumously released songs featuring Mercury.
