For weeks, Louisiana’s “family values” Attorney General Jeff Landry has been publicly fighting with the state’s Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards over mask mandates, saying they are a violation of people’s rights. Then yesterday, shortly before he was supposed to meet with Vice President Mike Pence, Landry announced he had tested positive for coronavirus. In a statement, Landry’s office said:Out of an overabundance of caution with the Vice President coming to our State, the Attorney General was tested for the Coronavirus.
Though experiencing no symptoms, he tested positive for COVID-19. The Attorney General is quarantining, taking medications prescribed by his doctor, and remaining asymptomatic.
