Various reports claimed United had two mammoth offers rejected for the 17-year-old winger, who is regarded as one of the club's brightest prospects.

Spanish outlet Sport published the initial report which claimed Jorge Mendes was trying to engineer a move to Old Trafford and The Times added that a bid worth £90million plus £50million in add-ons had been rejected by Barcelona.

However, Bartomeu insists there have been no formal approaches for the teenage sensation and reiterated his desire to rebuild he Catalan club around Fati in years to come.
