Ruth Bader Ginsburg died Friday at 87 following a years-long battle with pancreatic cancer sent many folks into collective mourning that they expressed on social media.
Appointed by Bill Clinton in 1993, Ginsburg has championed LGBTQ+ civil rights throughout her time on the bench. A feminist icon and an arbiter of decency and fairness for all, a few days before her death, Ginsburg told her granddaughter Clara Sera, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”The fight for the future of the SCOTUS is imminent with the Trump administration already gearing up to replace her with a conservative justice.
