Arrestate l’8 febbraio in un ristorante, Shakiro e Patricia, due donne trans camerunesi, la prima delle quali molto nota come influencer, sono state condannate a cinque anni di carcere e a una multa di 200.000 franchi Cfa  per “tentata sodomia” sulla base dell’articolo 347-1 del Codice penale.

Qualora non riuscissero a pagare la somma stabilita, dovranno scontare altri 12 mesi di prigione. A Shakiro e Patricia è stata applicata la massima della pena prevista da detto articolo in un Paese  in cui le persone trans non hanno alcuna possibilità di accedere alla rettifica anagrafica né tantomeno di vedere riconosciuta la propria identità di genere. Al punto che sono perseguite per attività omosessuali.
