what to expect, but also because it officially kicks awards season (our favorite season) into high gear. And, in both senses, this year’s broadcast was one we won’t soon forget.Comedian Nikki Glaser was tapped to host—seemingly based off her track record as the acid-tongued queen of roasts—and she did not disappoint, letting pretty much every celebrity in the room have it, from A-list to Z-list.And on the awards front, audacious trans musical Emilia Pérez and towering immigration epic The Brutalist were the big winners of the night with 4 and 3 wins, respectively.
Elsewhere, the ceremony held some space for Wicked, made a surprising (unintentional?) nod to Sniffies, and handed out some awards to a handful of fantastic LGBTQ+ performers and programs.
All in all? It felt like a pretty gay night! You can see a full list of the night’s winners on the official Golden Globes website.
