Riyadh Khalaf opened up about his dad's struggle to accept his sexuality on Celebrity MasterChef tonight. The YouTuber, 28, referred to his Iraqi dad as his "hero" as he dedicated his dish to his father.

In the final semi-final challenge this evening, he revealed the emotional meaning behind his dish. The contestants were tasked by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with creating a plate of food inspired by their family.

In response, Riyadh created a traditional Iraqi lamb kofta kebabs with hummus, baby roast aubergines, tzatziki, garlic and coriander flatbreads and a fattoush salad.

Explaining the feeling behind his dish, Riyadh said that his Iraqi father had initially struggled to come to terms with having a gay son.
