Lizzo’s new reality TV series, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, took home three of the six awards it was nominated for at this year’s Emmys.
Among its wins was the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Competition Program, which has been won by RuPaul’s Drag Race every year since 2018.
During her acceptance speech, the Juice singer said she was “very emotional” about the success of Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. “The trophy is nice but my emotion is for these people who are on the stage with me,” she continued. “The stories that they shared are not that unique that just don’t get the platform.
