Nonbinary actor Ezra Miller, 29, opened up about their seeking treatment after a series of legal issues and abuse allegations.They told Variety in a statement provided by their reps that they are “committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage” in their life.“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller said. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior.”The Hawaii County Police Department reported that in March Miller was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at a bar, and in April, they were arrested for assaulting a woman.
They paid a $500 bail for their first crime and were given a $500 fine for their harassment charge that was eventually dismissed.
In June, the parents of activist Tokata Iron Eyes accused Miller of using drugs, violence, and intimidation to exert a cult-like influence over their daughter, and petitioned a tribal court to issue an order of protection against the Justice League actor.
Iron Eyes later denied the accusations in a post on social media.Earlier this month, Miller was charged with felony burglary after allegedly stealing multiple bottles of alcohol from a home in Vermont in May.Miller’s behavior has been a challenge for Warner Bros.
