Gemma Clare Collins (born 31 January 1981) is an English media personality and businesswoman. In 2011, she began appearing on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex. Following a brief appearance on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (2014), Collins has appeared in various television programmes including Celebrity Big Brother (2016), Celebs Go Dating (2018), and Dancing on Ice (2019). In 2019, she began starring in her own reality series and hosting a podcast on BBC Sounds.
Gemma Collins has pulled out of her role in West End musical Chicago following a knee injury.Former TOWIE star Gemma is reportedly in tears after having to cancel her role as Matron 'Mama' Morton before it even gets to the stage.Gemma has sought medical advice and been advised to leave the role, according to the Sun, after first injuring her knee in 2019 on Dancing on Ice.She was due to begin her role at Sunderland Empire Theatre on May 31.An friend of Gemma's told The Sun: "Gemma is absolutely gutted she’s had to pull out of Chicago.
She has been in floods of tears and is inconsolable."Despite her "knowing the lines off by heart" and pulling back on rehearsal time due to her knowing the part "inside out" the gruelling schedule has proved too much.The source revealed Gemma had made a "last-ditch attempt" to be fit enough with an x-ray a fortnight ago before accepting that it was a step too far.Although Gemma can still walk, the reality of performing 48 times over six weeks and travelling across the country was simply too much.A Chicago spokesperson confirmed: "Gemma Collins’ management have informed the producers of Chicago she will no longer be appearing in the UK Tour of the show due to a knee injury."The Producers of Chicago wish Gemma all the best for the future."Gemma had told her Instagram followers of her pain on Tuesday morning saying: "Early morning session for my knee.
I can't describe the pain."She added: ""The swelling is next level.""My leg has ballooned with my knee. Hopefully this will take the swelling down."
