The Green Party looks set to once again lead Brighton & Hove City Council following two resignations and a suspension in the majority Labour Party.The Greens now have a one-seat majority (19 councillors to Labour’s 18) and Labour has agreed to ‘step aside and allow the Greens to form a new administration’.A joint statement from the leaders of the Labour Party, the Greens and the Conservatives said they ‘are working in the best interests of all in Brighton & Hove to provide stability following the recent resignations in the Labour Group which have changed the balance of power in the administration of the council’.The statement continued: ‘We recognise that by custom the largest elected group forms an administration of the council.
