New England captain John Bateman has promised his game will not change after being asked to lead his country for the first time.
Bateman will join the likes of childhood heroes Andy Farrell and Paul Sculthorpe in the line of men who have captained the national team, after Shaun Wane confirmed he will wear the armband for Saturday's Test against France in Perpignan.
And the Wigan forward admitted: "It's pretty weird because it was something you dreamed of as a kid. You don't think it's going to come true and now I'm really just looking forward to getting out there on Saturday and get stuck into it with the boys. "It's crazy.
