Alphonso David (born 1970) is an American attorney and LGBT civil rights leader. In August 2019, he became the president of the Human Rights Campaign. He is the first civil rights lawyer and first person of color to serve as president of the organization.
Mississippi lawmakers have officially passed a bill which will prevent trans athletes from participating in school sporting categories which align with their gender identity.
According to ABC News, the State House voted 81-28 to pass the so-called Mississippi Fairness Act, with governor Tate Reeves saying he intends to sign the bill when it is passed onto him.
