(Images by Matthew Rettenmund) Singer-songwriter Nicole Serrano, whose music has appeared on Grey's Anatomy, The Good Doctor and Selling Sunset, is coming out for Pride Month, telling her story to GMA this morning and in a wide-ranging interview with People Magazine.
Imagine having to perform your coming-out song to Lorna Luft and Melba Moore In People, she talks about her goals in a way most LGBTQ people can definitely relate to: I just want to live my life.
I just want to be happy. And in a way, I want to weed out the people who aren't going to love me for who I am. For Serrano, coming to terms with who she is has been a struggle of the variety we older folks in the movement might've thought would be a thing of the past.
And yet, brought up in a conservative church, she still had the wherewithal to tell her mom she thought she could be gay at age 11.
