The New York Supreme Court on Thursday suspended Rudy Giuliani from practicing law in New York state due to making “false and misleading statements” to courts, lawmakers and the public about the election loss of former President Donald Trump, his client.
In a 33-page decision, the court said the seriousness of Giuliani’s “uncontroverted misconduct can not be overstated.” The court determined that the former personal attorney for former President Trump should have his license suspended while a disciplinary action continues to be considered.
In its suspension order, the court noted that “interim suspension is a serious remedy, available only in situations where it is immediately necessary to protect the public from” an attorney’s violations
