Warnock’s claim will come as a great shock to America’s military. According to Department of Defense data, roughly two-thirds of American service members identify as religious.

And according to a recent Department of Defense report, Georgia is home to more than sixty thousand service members, making it the nation’s fifth-largest state by military population.
