Electric vehicles are charging ahead, with the passage of a landmark clean-energy bill last month and automakers designing innovative new models.

But a world of electric-only vehicles will take time. In the U.S. the goal is 2035, but until then many drivers—especially those looking for huge haulers—will still need to rely on traditional gas-powered rides.
