YouTube star NikkieTutorials has made history as the first trans woman to cover The Knot magazine. Since the age of 14, Nikkie de Jager has been a staple in the social media sphere for her breathtaking make-up tutorials and larger-than-life celebrity collaborations – including videos with Lady Gaga, Jessie J and Bebe Rexha.
Alongside her successful career as a beauty influencer, the young talent also made headlines after she came out as a transgender woman in her powerful 17-minute video titled ‘I’m Coming Out’.
In the clip, she opened up about her journey and revealed that her coming-out moment was taken away from her by an unidentified blackmailer. “So today, I am taking back my own power and I have to tell you something.
When I was younger I was born in the wrong body, which means that I am transgender. I am NikkieTutorials, and I am Nikkie. I am me,” she said.
