In honor of the Bay Area Reporter's 50th anniversary, we're culling from our archive to feature a different year of the paper each week.
We are kicking off with the November 1, 1971 issue containing an interview with then-supervisor and future mayor and U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, long supported by the B.A.R.
The paper's layout was different then; no headline or byline accompanies the story, though Feinstein was featured on the cover.
The issue also included an astrological profile of Feinstein by El Scorp, which read in part, "Mrs. Feinstein's chart has several points in common with the city's chart.
