At the request of his employees, Alexandre’s owner Lee Daugherty has announced that he is closing the bar for at least the month of January in an attempt to help stem the spread of COVID-19.

The decision came after an employee tested positive for COVID in a pre-shift rapid test and in consideration of the fact that the new Omicron variant is much more contagious.

Alexandre’s is the second Oak Lawn area bar to close due to Omicron; Hidden Door President Harvey Meissner announced Dec. 22 that that bar would be closed “until at least Jan.
