Covid rates “stable” in Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove City Council has revealed that in the seven days up to December 4 (based on data published on December 9) there were 173 confirmed new Covid-19 cases in the city, which is similar to the rate in the previous week.These figures, equivalent to a weekly rate of new cases of 59.5 per 100,000 residents, are lower than the rate for England of 151 per 100,000, and the South East of 156.9 per 100,000.For more info and full data, click hereDr Katie Cuming, Consultant in Public Health, explains: “We know the big reduction in cases seen after lockdown was due to less mixing of people and less mixing between households.
