Phil Collins looked frail as he took to the stage with his band Genesis, as the star looked glum as he struggled to even raise a smile.

The 71-year-old drummer joined bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks on stage at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin for a performance.

Phil could be seen seated throughout the set to play for the crowd as the band kicked off the gig with a roaring classic Behind the Lines.Other iconic tracks in the mix were Mama, Follow You Follow Me, Invisible Touch and Throwing It All Away, with many others. Before Phil was plagued with health issues, he had been the man behind the drum kit until he was unable play without having the sticks strapped to his hands. Now, his son Nic Collins tends to take over the as band's lead percussionist while Phil in recent years as instead taken to the front as the singer. The musician suffered a vertebrae injury in 2009 and 2015 that left him with crippling nerve pain in his upper back.Having undergone surgery, he was left without feeling in his fingers and was unable to play for the band as he once did.At the time, he said: "I’m kind of physically challenged a bit, which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there. "I can barely hold a [drum] stick with this hand, so there are certain physical things which get in the way."Later in 2017, an official statement on the Genesis Facebook page revealed that they had been forced to cancel their tour after Phil had developed "drop foot" after an operation on his back went wrong.
