Gemma Clare Collins (born 31 January 1981) is an English media personality and businesswoman. In 2011, she began appearing on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex. Following a brief appearance on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (2014), Collins has appeared in various television programmes including Celebrity Big Brother (2016), Celebs Go Dating (2018), and Dancing on Ice (2019). In 2019, she began starring in her own reality series and hosting a podcast on BBC Sounds.
She’s the loud, proud and larger-than-life Essex girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and former The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins did just that on Tuesday as she slammed her critics who said she only got a part in the UK tour of Chicago: The Musical because of who she is - ‘the GC’.
Gemma, 41, is due to make her debut as Mama Morton in Chicago: The Musical, which kicks off in Sunderland on May 31 and will head to Cardiff, Blackpool, Sheffield and Norwich, before ending in Oxford on July 23.
Whilst onstage for the launch night of her one-woman show, The GC’s Big Night Out in Manchester on Tuesday, the TV personality took a moment to give her opinion on her critics who have trolled her for her signing on the iconic West End show.
Gemma shared her feelings on the subject with her audience of adoring fans, saying: “I’ve had a lot of stick from theatre goers and performers going, ‘Oh she just got it because she’s the GC.’ “I didn’t just get it because of the GC.
