She’s the loud, proud and larger-than-life Essex girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and former The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins did just that on Tuesday as she slammed her critics who said she only got a part in the UK tour of Chicago: The Musical because of who she is - ‘the GC’.

Gemma, 41, is due to make her debut as Mama Morton in Chicago: The Musical, which kicks off in Sunderland on May 31 and will head to Cardiff, Blackpool, Sheffield and Norwich, before ending in Oxford on July 23.

Whilst onstage for the launch night of her one-woman show, The GC’s Big Night Out in Manchester on Tuesday, the TV personality took a moment to give her opinion on her critics who have trolled her for her signing on the iconic West End show.

Gemma shared her feelings on the subject with her audience of adoring fans, saying: “I’ve had a lot of stick from theatre goers and performers going, ‘Oh she just got it because she’s the GC.’ “I didn’t just get it because of the GC.

Life Advice My body isn’t ready for “Hot Gay Summer” and I’m freaking out
Hi Jake,I’m in my early 30s and living in Miami Beach. It’s already May and “Hot Gay Summer” is approaching like a speeding train, but I don’t feel like my body is anywhere close to where it needs to be.  “Hot Gay Summer” for me means going to the various beach and pool parties, outdoor concerts, dance parties and Prides, and then traveling to P-town for the 4th of July. It’s been a stressful time with work, and it’s been harder to get back on a regular workout schedule after the pandemic. I’m starting to panic. What should I do?Summertime SadnessDear Summertime Sadness,Grinding in a sea of perfect, sweaty torsos on a hot summer night is a gay image as old as time.
