Barack Hussein Obama II (born August 4, 1961) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama was the first African-American president of the United States. He previously served as a U.S. senator from Illinois from 2005 to 2008 and an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004.
Vox.The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced July 1 that it would be making changes to the Equal Access Rule, which was formulated when Barack Obama was president and has required that people in single-sex or sex-segregated shelters that receive HUD funding be placed according to their gender identity.
But changes to the rule proposed by Donald Trump’s administration would mean that shelter operators can decide where to place these clients.The text of the amended rule has not been released yet, and it is subject to a 60-day period of public comment before it becomes final.
