He had originally become suspicious after she splurged thousands during a family holiday to Mexico – but she dismissed his fears, the Daily Mirror reports.
Just four weeks later, he was awoken by his wife mumbling “about money” in her sleep, before finding the care home resident's debit card in her purse.
He reported her to the police and Ruth appeared before Liverpool Crown Court for the second time last week. The dad-of-three said: "I had my suspicions when Ruth began over-spending.
