Gregory Wayne Abbott (born November 13, 1957) is an American attorney who has served as the 48th governor of Texas since January 20, 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Abbott previously served as the 50th attorney general of Texas from 2002 to 2015. He is the third governor of any U.S. state to permanently use a wheelchair. He is also the first disabled governor in Texas history.
County Judge Clay Jenkins (David Taffet/Dallas Voice) Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins says he was surprised when Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to close the Federal Medical Station set up last week at the Dallas Convention Center claiming Jenkins said he wasn’t going to use it.
According to Mayor Eric Johnson’s stats released this morning, Dallas has 5,236 hospital beds. Of those 2,572 are occupied. Dallas has a total of 778 ICU beds with 476 of those occupied.
