London has been cancelled for a second year due to concerns over coronavirus. The UK’s biggest LGBT Pride festival was due to take place on September 11, having already been postponed from June, and was expected to attract some 35,000 people.
Organisers said making it a safe environment within government guidelines would have meant reducing the event to just two or three stages scattered across central London. It also would have meant losing the main parade, which is crucial to Pride’s history as a protest for equality.
But people on social media have been quick to point out crowds of people swarming the capital for the Euros and nightclubs being able to open their doors again.
