A gay man who had been senior marketing director at the nation's first LGBTQ retirement community has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a juvenile.
Drue Mordecai, 55, of Santa Rosa, was arrested January 28 on suspicion of abusing a minor for four to five years, beginning when the alleged victim was 12 years old.
He is being held on $3 million bail. The Sonoma County Public Defender's Office told the Bay Area Reporter that Mordecai is being represented by Chris Andrian, a private attorney.
Mordecai was arraigned February 1 via Zoom. He faces 29 counts of child sexual assault. Mordecai had allegedly met the youth when he was doing volunteer work at the New Vintage Church in Santa Rosa, according to the Press Democrat.
