Monsters’ Cooper Koch wants to star in Luca Guadagnino’s American Psycho adaptation

Cooper Koch is open to stepping into Patrick Bateman’s villainous shoes. On 18 October, Deadline reported that a new American Psycho film was officially in the works at Lionsgate, with Luca Guadagnino attached as director and Scott Z.

Burns penning the script. In addition to the prestigious creative team, sources revealed to the news outlet that the film will not be a remake of the 2000 cult classic – which starred Christian Bale – but a new take on Bret Easton Ellis’s book of the same name.

The novel, which was released in 1991, follows the story of Patrick Bateman, a young, wealthy and vain investment banker who leads a double life as a deranged serial killer.

While the film is in the very early stages of development, it’s already garnered the attention of fans and even some of Hollywood’s rising talents, like Koch.
