The Bridgerton universe is about to get a hell of a lot more queer. According to official communications from the streaming service, the fourth season of Netflix’s period drama romp will be led by none other than Benedict Bridgerton.
If you’re familiar with Bridgerton lore, you will be aware that Benedict (played by Luke Thompson) is the second son in the Bridgerton family and has been described as an *ahem* “bohemian” character and a long-time bachelor who is “loath to settle down”, despite his older and younger brothers both having tied the knot.
And Benedict’s queer-coding doesn’t end there! In the second half of season three, which debuted earlier this summer, Benedict is seen partaking in a threesome with his love interest Lady Tilley Arnold (played by Hannah New) and her friend Paul Suarez (played by Lucas Aurelio).
RIP Benedict, you would have loved Feeld! Now, this bi king is set to head up the new Bridgerton series with the Netflix official social media account teasing the follow tidbit about how the season’s plot will develop: “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.” According to Tudum, Benedict’s story will revolve around his quest to track down this “Lady in Silver” as he joins the marriage mart.
