Charley Pride has died aged 86 after a fight with Covid-19. The country music legend died on Saturday in Dallas following complications with coronavirus.
His best known tracks included Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’, Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone and Mountain of Love. Tributes for the star were flooding social media following the sad news of his death.
Among them, one read: "Sad to share the news that Charley Pride died today in Dallas due to complications from Covid-19 at age 86.
Charley is country music’s first Black superstar and the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. #RIPCharleyPride." His musical career was glittering and over time he received a catalogue of awards including Grammy Awards.
