Rising star Cooper Koch has shared the adorable story of why he wears a wedding ring. Since September, the openly gay actor has captivated pop culture enthusiasts worldwide for his critically acclaimed performance in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

But like many Hollywood stars, Koch’s love life has also garnered a fair amount of attention, with many fans noticing the 28-year-old wearing a wedding ring during various public appearances, like Watch What Happens Live.

While Koch confirmed that he had a boyfriend on the aforementioned Bravo show, he refrained from acknowledging the mysterious piece of jewellery.

However, on a recent episode of Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, the young talent set the record straight, sharing an adorable story about the ring and how it ended on his finger. “We were going to the Emmy Awards with my brother Payton, who was nominated for an Emmy for editing for Only Murders in the Building and we were getting ready, and I didn’t have any jewellery on,” he explained. “And I was with my boyfriend, and we went into my room, and I was looking through my jewellery, and I had this ring that was my grandfather’s, and I was like, ‘Oh, I should wear this ring,’ and then we just like put it on my finger and it just kind of became this little like, I don’t know, romantic protective mechanism.
