I’m scared to hit on guys because so many “aren’t into Asians.” How can I overcome this?
Hi Jake,I’m Filipino and I really struggle with dating in the gay community. I feel like I have a strike against me just because of my ethnicity.
So many guys, especially white guys, on the apps say they “aren’t into Asians.”I know not every white guy is racist or has a preference for non-Asian guys, but at the same time, I’ve been ghosted a lot after they realize I’m Asian.

Either that or I worry that if they are into me, they’re just going to fetishize me. Why can’t I just find a guy who’s attracted to me without my race being a big deal?
