told the M.E.N they had received an influx of calls during the start of lockdown - almost double the amount they would normally receive.Between March 23 and April 12, their advice line also saw a 450 pc rise in calls specifically regarding biphobia.
Calls regarding homophobia and transphobia increased aswell.There has also been extra demand on services based on mental health and suicide.“Since lockdown many more people are using our services than ever before,” Paul added.“More people are calling our helpline each day, with everyone seeking support on coming out, reporting a hate crime, getting support with challenges in their lives or simply reaching out due to isolation.
