Lil Uzi Vert has subtly updated their pronouns on Instagram. Fans noticed the change on Sunday (17 July) although the rapper has not publicly addressed it.

Many have began referring to the 26-year-old as non-binary, however being non-binary and using gender neutral pronouns are not synonymous.

Not all non-binary people use gender neutral pronouns and not all those who use gender neutral pronouns are non-binary. Fans have shared their support for the rapper, with one user writing: “Waking up to Lil Uzi Vert changing their pronouns to they/them.

Please be respectful to them. it’s not that hard to be respectful.” Others have noted that the rapper has previously been accused of transphobia.
