CNN newsman Anderson Cooper has opened up about the first time he realized he was gay, and the long process towards personal acceptance that followed.The Anderson Cooper 360 host and recent new dad gave the comments during a viewer question segment called “Ask Anderson Almost Anything” on CNN’s Full Circle.Responding to a question about his personal coming out process, he said: “I was probably seven when I realized… I’m not sure I knew the word gay at the time, but I realized something was up, that something that was different.“So [I realized it when I was] probably six or seven, and I told some friends in high school.
