Redline, one of the few queer venues of downtown Los Angeles, joins the ranks of LGBTQ venues nationwide fighting for survival during the COVID-19 pandemic.Dominic Alpuche, brother of owner Oliver Alpuche, launched a GoFundMe campaign January 6 in hopes of raising enough donations to keep Redline afloat.“Redline opened on July 14th 2015 alongside Precinct and Bar Mattachine that same year, joining the long-standing New Jalisco Bar creating a larger queer safe haven in DTLA,” Alpuche writes on the fundraising page. “We already lost Bar Mattachine in 2018 and now we are in jeopardy of losing Redline.
