Colman Domingo will star in Netflix’s upcoming “conspiracy thriller” series The Madness. The actor will portray a “media pundit who is forced to fight for his innocence and his life” in the eight-episode limited drama “after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods.” Peter Friedlander, Vice President of Scripted Series at Netflix for the US and Canada, described The Madness as a “fresh take on the conspiracy thriller” and said it turns the genre “on its head with its multi-layered characters, propulsive action and swift pace.” “We are proud to have such a powerhouse team assembled to bring this dynamic story to life for Netflix viewers around the world,” he added, “and to continue producing great entertainment with team Chernin.” Domingo is best known for his performances as Victor Strand in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead and Ali in HBO’s Euphoria, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

Later this year, Domingo will play Bayard Rustin, the gay civil rights activist who organised the 1963 March on Washington, in Netflix’s upcoming self-titled film.

Rustin will explore the activist’s origins, his instrumental role in changing the course of the civil rights movement and how he brought the HIV/AIDS crisis to the attention of the NAACP.

Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, the film is directed by Tony Award-winning filmmaker and producer George C.
