A North Carolina dog who was dumped at a shelter by his owners because he was seen humping another male dog and feared he might be gay — has been adopted.
The Stanly County Animal Protective Services in Albemarle posted on Facebook Tuesday that Fezco had found new owners to love him for who he is.
The shelter claimed his former owners were aghast when they saw Fezco mounting another male dog — a common canine behavior that is not necessarily sexual in nature.
The shelter confirmed that the dog’s new owners are Steve Nichols and his longtime partner John. The couple said they renamed Fezco “Oscar” after the Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde — who was gay.
