Attention, Little Monsters! Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated LG7 era is right around the corner. On 17 October, fans of the ‘Bad Romance’ singer noticed that her streaming discography had slightly changed – with seven of her track titles switching to uppercase except one lowercase letter.
The songs that received the mysterious makeover treatment were, ‘i LIKE IT ROUGH,’ ‘dANCE IN THE DARK,‘ ‘eLECTRIC CHAPEL’, ‘aRTPOP,‘ ‘sINNERS PRAYER,‘ ‘eNIGMA‘ and ‘sMILE.’ After further investigation, little monsters on social media concluded that the lowercase letters spelt out the word “disease.“ Speculation elevated to new heights when Gaga uploaded a new playlist titled “.com“ to her Spotify.
The round-up included the aforementioned tracks and four additional songs – ‘Government Hooker’, ‘Always Remember Us This Way,‘ ‘G.U.Y,‘ and ‘Americano‘ – which ended up spelling “Gaga Disease.” On 19 October, after days of speculation, the Grammy winner’s label, Universal Music, shared a pre-save link for ‘Disease’, seemingly confirming that it will be the lead single from LG7.
While Gaga has yet to personally announce the news, fans have already expressed excitement for her iconic new era. One little monster on Twitter/X wrote: “This is literally my MOST anticipated comeback of the year like yall dont get it…” Another fan tweeted: “Mental note: taking sick leave this Friday because of a “disease.” A third fan added: “It’s insane how I got cough and cold the moment Lady Gaga teased DISEASE.
