Donald Trump blew out Kamala Harris, and Republicans also won the Senate. The entire country shifted rightward, almost regardless of demographic or location, and it was pretty discouraging.

With a map like the following, it’s challenging for Democrats or any left-leaning person to find sources of optimism. That’s especially the case for those concerned about LGBTQ+ rights, considering Republicans spent nearly $215 million on TV ads denigrating trans people this cycle.

The GOP sold anti-LGBTQ+ demagogy, and, unfortunately, many Americans bought it. Stay woke with our briefing while staying informed on all things LGBTQ+ entertainment, life, and more!Very silly IMO to try and pin this on a foreign policy change or different VP choice or anything like that.

This is a much deeper, wholesale rejection of Dem messaging. And an extremely painful one. pic.twitter.com/Vt73eYqBNuBut elections don’t occur in a vacuum.
