Pedro Pascal has hailed his sister Lux as “one of the most powerful people and personalities” he’s ever known. In 2021, the actor voiced support for the actress and trans activist when he shared a photo of her cover for the Spanish-language magazine Ya, where she opened up about her gender identity for the first time.
Pascal wrote in his native Spanish, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which translates to, “My sister, my heart, our Lux.” The Mandalorian star has discussed his admiration for Lux and the transgender community in the years since (becoming one of the industry’s most outspoken allies in the process), and continued to do so in a recent interview with Esquire.
With the current onslaught of legislation targeting trans rights in the United States – in addition to the ongoing fatal violence against the community – Pascal was questioned by the publication on “what this moment in time is like for her”. “I wouldn’t want to speak on her behalf,” he explained, “but she is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known.
My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.” Pascal said he sees a lot of his mother in Lux, who is seventeen years younger than him. “She ruled the household right away,” he revealed. “When my older sister and I would visit, we were like intruders.
