Tom Daley has whacked out the speedos once again to deliver an important message. The former Olympic diver and knitting enthusiast has collaborated with Malibu Drinks and the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) for an exclusive knitted swimwear collection under his ‘Made With Love’ brand.

In the video, Daley can be seen walking into a public pool in a Malibu dressing gown – cocktail in hand – before stripping off on the diving board to reveal his knitted speedos, the back of which reads: “Don’t Drink and Dive”. “Diving is over and out but I want to keep doing great things around the water,” Daley said in an Instagram statement, before highlighting the shocking statistic that one in four drownings involve alcohol. “That’s why I have teamed up with @maliburumuk and the charity @rlssuk to create a collection of glam, knitted swimwear that reminds people: DON’T DRINK AND DIVE.” All proceeds from the limited collection will go to the RLSS, a charity that has a “proud history of helping to reducing the number of lives lost to drowning”. “Our mission is to be the leader in lifesaving and lifeguarding in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Sharing, our expertise and knowledge with as many people as possible, giving everyone the potential to save lives and enjoy water, safely,” their website reads.
