Wednesday star Emma Myers expressed her hopes for the titular character embracing her “singleness” in season two. Back in November, Netflix released the highly anticipated fantasy teen drama based on the beloved Addams Family character.
The show, which is executive produced by Tim Burton, follows Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) as she enrols in the mysterious Nevermore Academy – which was once attended by her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Adams (Luis Guzmán).
As she tries to navigate her new surroundings, the 16-year-old soon finds herself with psychic abilities and at the centre of a local murder investigation.
While the show has earned critical acclaim and broken an array of streaming records for Netflix, the series earned particular praise from LGBTQ+ viewers – who have shipped Ortega’s character with her optimistic werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair (Myers).
