Drag Race winner Nymphia Wind leaves fans speechless with Olympics performance
Nymphia Wind brought her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to the Paris Olympics, and fans are gagged. Earlier this year, the banana activist and trailblazing Jane Goodall impersonator ‘Padam Padam’-ed her way to glory on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16, making history as the first East Asian champion of the OG franchise.
Nymphia’s triumph was widely celebrated by various alumni and stars –including Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue – and particularly those within her community who have been “hungry” to see an “Asian success story” on-screen.
Since taking home the crown, Nymphia’s star has continued to rise, with the beloved drag talent appearing on various magazine covers – like Vogue Taiwan – and more.
On 8 August, the New York-based queen added another feat to her growing resume when she performed at the Paris Cultural Olympiad – “a multidisciplinary artistic and cultural programme” that runs before and during the Games.
