Opening the Venice Film Festival on August 31 will be Noah Baumbach’s Netflix picture White Noise, starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig.

Venice chief Alberto Barbera said the film was “worth waiting for,” using a ton of adjectives to display his excitement – spanning ‘ambitious,’ ‘compelling,’ ‘dramatic,’ ‘ironic’ and ‘satirical.’ We’re sold.
