Who’d have thought it would take a gay man to make the ultimate ’80s child fantasy? The man in question is Todd Holland, and the fantasy is the cult movie The Wizard.
Though it scored mediocre reviews and died a quick death at the box office in 1989, the movie found a second life on home video and television.
The film stars Fred Savage–the child actor of the moment thanks to his work on The Wonder Years–as Corey, a blue-collar kid with a special needs little brother, Jimmy (Luke Edwards).
