Donald Trump’s initial pick to be the next Secretary of Defense, faces a stiff uphill battle for Senate confirmation, rumors have begun about potential alternatives.One name floated is Florida Governor Ron “Don’t Say Gay” DeSantis.
Despite running in the Republican Primary earlier this year, DeSantis quickly dropped out and endorsed Trump. Given DeSantis’ previous criticism of Trump on the campaign trail, it might be a surprise move from the President-Elect to now tap him.
However, DeSantis a former military vet, at least posesses some experience in the military and working in government (which is more than can be said of some of Trump’s other cabinet picks…).
