With seemingly little fanfare — surprising for drag queen — Drag Race winning performer Yvie Oddly dropped a book of memoirs earlier this summer.

All About Yvie: Into the Oddity is an intimate and in-depth look into the life of Yvie Oddly, winner of season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The book is penned by Oddly with Michael Bach. “We’re thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response to the book,” Bach said in a press release. “It’s a privilege to help Yvie share their story with the world and allow people to have a deeper understanding of the talent that is Yvie.” It begins with Oddly’s childhood and then tells of their coming out and coming to terms with their sexuality, gender, and how those things impact their journey as an artist.

And it’s an exploration of Yvie’s unique expression of drag as an art form. After winning their season on Drag Race, Oddly has gone on to display their talents as a designer, rapper and comedian and was named one of New York Magazine’s most powerful drag queens in 2019.
