The creator of Warrior Nun has shared a devastating update about his involvement in the upcoming film trilogy. In 2022, the Netflix series was cancelled after two critically-acclaimed seasons, sparking outrage from fans.

After various fan-led campaigns, including a high-profile change.org petition, it was announced in June that Warrior Nun had been saved, with director and showrunner Simon Barry confirming that it will make an “epic” return. “Today, I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts – #WarriorNun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine,” he announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) in June 2023.

On 15 August, executive producer Dean English revealed that three feature films have been commissioned to continue the titular character’s story.

While fans are eager to see the continuation of the Warrior Nun story, the upcoming films might be led by a different creative team.
